Homework will be done on a weekly basis from Monday to Monday. It will be consistent across each year level. See below for a more detailed explanation of the homework grid for each year level (it varies between year levels, increasing in complexity as the students move through the school.) Also included are example homework grids.

A fun homework grid that teachers can add spelling words too. This can be used so pupils or teachers can choose the task to be completed. Tags in this resource: remembering-spelling-black-and-white.png.
Many activities on the home-school grid are not designed to be tracked or marked by class teachers ('physical exercise' and 'helping at home' are obvious examples). Completion of 'Bring Back Tasks' and maths homework is recognised in class. Spellings are infomally assessed by the class teacher at the end of each two week period.

Romans Homework Every child has been issued with their topic homework grid for this term. It is absolutely wonderful to see all the pieces of homework returned weekly, but please ensure that all reading, spellings and maths homework is done as a priority.

Spellings - we shall be sending home spelling homework which will be linked to the new spelling rules. Alongside this, the children are expected to learn to read and spell the statutory words for Years 3 and 4 from the National Curriculum. We will practise these in class throughout the year but will also encourage them to look at them at home too.
At Hertford Juniors, we value Home Learning. We believe it can consolidate and enrich the learning that takes place in school and, in addition, provide a window for parents and carers to be a part of their child’s educational experience and development.
Homework Grid Term 3 Weeks 1-10 Choose 1 activity each week to complete and hand in. You can tick the box when you have completed an activity. You must read for 20 minutes each night (or equivalent) and have your card signed by a parent or guardian. Also, practice your tables by saying and writing or recording them each week.
As a result of the recent Government announcement, the school will be closed from Friday 20th March until further notice. The Year Three team will be setting daily tasks on this webpage for children to complete in their homework books, on pieces of paper or in their own writing pads.
